Citizens of Albania, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey, as well as all countries of the former Soviet Union and former Yugoslavia except those that have joined the EU, still require British visas. Please note that the U.K. is not part of the "Schengen area" (which is most of the other EU countries), and a Schengen visa will not enable you to enter Britain, even as a visitor for only a few days.

Métro / Underground
Registered people before October 1 receive a 3 day City card for traveling in London, free of charge.
Normal tickets or passes for the underground :
London underground map, including zones (350K)
Oyster cards : Costs £3 refundable deposit + cost of tickets. Provides cheaper fees for all types of public transports. You can compare the zone fares here.
Mesures de sécurité
Be careful when selecting your hand luggage that you will bring in the plane. Anything remotely sharp or pointy could be confiscated, not just knives/razors. You should store such items in your checked-in luggage.
Trains vers le centre-ville
Heathrow : Requires a zone 1-6 underground (£3.80) ticket to go to the centre, does not require an additionnal ticket once in the centre.
Gatwick : Requires a train ticket (£8-10) towards Victoria station, add £2 to afterwards use the underground.
Luton : A bus goes to the central bus station ( £6) near Victoria, add £2 to afterwards use the underground.

Diary products and meat : Do not import ! They will be confiscated at the aiport.
Coffee, beer, wine and cigarettes : All very expensive. Coffee on the street costs between 50p - £1. Cigarettes cost £4-5 ( ?) per pack. You can import not more than 1 bottle of alcohol and 1 box (cartoon) of cigarettes.
Fruit and veggetables : Can be found at affordable prices in the Asian stores, mostly in the surburbs.
Bread : "No label" white bread can be found for low prices in large stores.
Processed foods can be very useful and easy to transport. Packet/dry soups, fruit/vegetable jams, crackers, etc.

[2] Organisational registration is a way for your organisation to support the ESF. It is an alternative to affiliation for non-UK organisations and for organisations who do not wish to support the Charter of Principles. It does not cover the cost of entry for organisational delegates.
